Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1 c
- eggs - 6 item
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- baking powder - 1 tsp
- sifted flour - 1 c
How to make sponge cake:
Separate eggs. Beat whites for 10 minutes. Set aside. Add sugar to egg yolks and beat 15 minutes. Combine egg yolks with egg whites and beat 2 minutes more. Add flour gradually until well blended. Add baking powder with 1 tsp. flour while beating mixture slowly. Add vanilla and beat only 1 to 2 minutes more. Bake in large round 12- inch pan, lightly greased and floured at 350° for 45 - 50 minutes. Do not open oven.
