Spaghetti sauce with meat
Ingredients/Components
- salt - 1 Tbsp
- Crisco - 1/2 c
- Worcestershire sauce - 1 Tbsp
- ground beef - 2 lb
- cans tomato sauce - 2 oz
- cans tomato paste - 2 oz
- black pepper - 1/2 tsp
- onion, finely chopped
- cans tomatoes - 2 lb
- bay leaves - 3 item
- ground oregano - 1 tsp
- Velveeta cheese, chunked - 1/2 lb
- cloves garlic, minced or equivalent in garlic powder - 2 item
How to make spaghetti sauce with meat:
Cook onion until tender in melted Crisco. Add ground beef and cook until browned. Add remaining ingredients except cheese. Cover and cook over moderately low heat about 1 hour. Remove bay leaves, stir in cheese and heat until melted.Cook 1 1/2 pounds (uncooked weight) spaghetti in boiling salted water. Drain and combine with the sauce. Should serve 12 to 15 people, depending upon their appetites.
This sauce also freezes well, so for a smaller family this batch could be divided in half or in thirds and frozen for later use.
