Southern sweet potato pie
Ingredients/Components
- sugar
- cinnamon - 1 tsp
- eggs - 3 item
- vanilla - 1 Tbsp
- salt - 1 tsp
- stick margarine - 1 item
- nutmeg - 1 Tbsp
- lemon - 1 tsp
- large can Pet milk - 1 item
- sweet potatoes, cooked and mashed - 4 c
- can flaked coconut - 1 item
- uncooked pie shells - 2 item
How to make southern sweet potato pie:
Cook sweet potatoes, about 3 or 4 medium size. Mash them as to cream. Add 3 eggs, 2 1/2 cups sugar, salt, margarine, nutmeg, cinnamon, vanilla, lemon flavoring and Pet milk. Mix all together until smooth. Add coconut, 1 can flakes or 1 cup from package. Mix all together. Pour into 2 shells. Bake at 400° for 1 hour or until knife inserted halfway between outside and center of filling comes out clean. Serve warm or cool, if desired.Recipe categories: Desserts, Potato, Vegetables.
