Southern squash casserole
Ingredients/Components
- milk - 1 c
- salt - 1/4 tsp
- melted butter - 2 Tbsp
- pepper - 1/4 tsp
- chopped onion - 1/3 c
- chopped celery - 1/2 c
- chopped green pepper - 2 Tbsp
- shredded Cheddar cheese - 1/4 c
- eggs, slightly beaten - 2 item
- squash - 1 lb
- crumbled crackers - 1 c
How to make southern squash casserole:
Wash squash and slice, then cook in salt water for 10 minutes. Drain and wash the squash. Mash the squash and place in a medium bowl. Stir in remaining ingredients.Pour into greased, 1-quart casserole dish. Bake at 375° for 25 minutes or until knife inserted in middle comes out clean.
