Sour cream swiss steak
Ingredients/Components
- salt - 1 tsp
- flour - 2 Tbsp
- brown sugar - 3 Tbsp
- butter - 3 Tbsp
- water - 3/4 c
- vegetable oil - 1/4 c
- heavy cream - 3/4 c
- dry mustard - 1/2 tsp
- paprika - 1/2 tsp
- pepper - 1/2 tsp
- soy sauce - 3 Tbsp
- medium chopped onion - 1 item
- clove garlic, chopped - 1 item
- top round steak or boneless chuck steak - 2 lb
How to make sour cream swiss steak:
Heat oven to 300°. Cut meat into serving pieces and dust with flour, then pound flour into meat. Sprinkle salt, pepper, paprika and dry mustard on meat. Heat oil and butter in a flameproof casserole until it foams. Add meat and brown on both sides. Add onion, garlic, water, soy sauce, brown sugar and sour cream. Cover and bake 30 to 45 minutes until tender. Use the sauce on potatoes or meat.Recipe categories: Meat, Beef, Steak.
