Ingredients/Components

  • round steak - 1 to
  • vegetable oil - 2 Tbsp
  • soy sauce - 1/4 c
  • chopped onions - 1 c
  • clove garlic - 1 item
  • sugar - 1 tsp
  • salt - 1/2 tsp
  • pepper - 1/4 tsp
  • ginger - 1/4 tsp
  • can tomatoes, cut up - 16 oz
  • green peppers, cut into strips - 2 item
  • cold water - 1/2 c
  • cornstarch - 1 Tbsp
  • cooked egg noodles or rice - 1 item

How to make slow cooked pepper steak:

Cut steak into 1 x 3-inch strips. Brown in oil in a skillet. Transfer to a slow cooker. Combine soy sauce, onions, garlic, sugar, salt, pepper and ginger. Pour over steak. Cover and cook on low setting for 5 or 6 hours or until meat is tender. Add tomatoes and green peppers. Cook for 1 hour longer. Combine cold water with cornstarch to make a paste. Stir into liquid in slow cooker and cook on high setting until thickened. Serve over cooked noodles or rice. Serves 6 to 8.
