Ingredients/Components

  • salt - 1/2 tsp
  • soy sauce - 2 Tbsp
  • sesame oil optional - 1/4 tsp
  • wonton wrappers - 1 lb
  • pork, minced - 1/2 lb
  • raw prawns, minced
  • stalks green onions, chopped finely - 2 item
  • water chestnuts, peeled and chopped finely - 4 item
  • Chinese mushrooms, presoaked and chopped finely - 4 item

How to make won ton soup:

Filling:1/2 lb. raw prawns, minced1/2 lb. pork, minced2 stalks green onions, chopped finely4 water chestnuts, peeled and chopped finely4 Chinese mushrooms, presoaked and chopped finely2 Tbsp. soy sauce1/2 tsp. salt1/4 tsp. sesame oil (optional) Combine and mix well all ingredients. Place about 1/2 teaspoon of filling in one corner of wonton wrapper. Fold this corner over the wrapper 2/3 toward the opposite corner. Seal by putting tiny dab of water on the right hand corner and bring it to the left hand corner. Drop wonton into boiling water and cook 4 minutes or until pork is done. Remove wonton and blanch in cold water to prevent sticking. Add wonton to hot soup stock of choice and serve. Garnish with Chinese greens (bok choy or nappa) or cooked ham, barbecue pork or cooked sliced chicken and green onions.
