Ingredients/Components
- milk - 1/2 c
- sour cream - 1/2 c
- biscuit mix
- shredded lettuce - 3 c
- ground beef - 1 lb
- tomatoes, chopped - 3 item
- tomato sauce - 1 can
- taco seasoning mix - 2 Tbsp
- shredded Monterey Jack cheese - 1 c
How to make skillet taco pie:
Preheat oven to 400°. In 10 or 11-inch ovenproof skillet, brown ground beef. Drain excess fat. Add taco seasoning mix and tomato sauce to browned beef. Simmer 5 minutes. Spread mixture in skillet; remove from heat. In bowl, blend biscuit mix and milk. On floured surface pat dough to form a circle 1 inch smaller than skillet. Transfer dough to top of browned beef. Bake 12 to 15 minutes. Place large platter upside down on skillet. Turn over to transfer taco pie on platter. Sprinkle cheese over beef mixture; distribute lettuce on top of cheese. Put tomatoes on center of cheese. Make 6 dollops of sour cream on pie. Cut into 6 wedges.Recipe categories: < 60 mins, Main dish, One Dish meal.
