Skillet scalloped potatoes
Ingredients/Components
- salt - 1 tsp
- boiling water - 1 c
- dash of pepper - 1 item
- small onion, chopped - 1 item
- tall can evaporated milk - 1 item
- butter or bacon fat - 3 Tbsp
- to 5 medium cubed raw potatoes - 4 item
How to make skillet scalloped potatoes:
Melt butter or fat in pan over low heat. Add potatoes and onion. Cook and stir until most of the fat is absorbed (3 to 4 minutes). Add water; stir in milk.Continue cooking over low heat, stirring occasionally, until potatoes are tender and sauce is thickened, about 20 to 25 minutes. Stir in salt and pepper to taste.
