Shrimp and rice
Ingredients/Components
- butter - 1/4 c
- all-purpose flour - 2 Tbsp
- paprika - 1 tsp
- Worcestershire sauce - 1 tsp
- chopped celery - 1/2 c
- salt and pepper to taste - 1 item
- minced onion - 1/4 c
- hot cooked rice - 3 c
- shrimp - 1 lb
- chopped bell pepper - 1/3 c
- slices bacon - 4 item
How to make shrimp and rice:
Clean and devein shrimp; sprinkle with Worcestershire sauce. Roll in mixture of flour and paprika. Melt butter in large skillet. Add celery, green pepper and onion. Cook over low heat about 5 minutes. Add shrimp; increase heat and cook about 5 minutes more or until flour browns and shrimp turns pink. Add hot rice and a small amount of water, if needed. Fry bacon until crisp; crumble and add with bacon drippings to shrimp. Add salt and pepper to taste. Serve hot.Recipe categories: Lunch/snacks, Shellfish, Shrimp.
