Shrimp and artichoke casserole
Ingredients/Components
- milk - 3/4 c
- flour
- butter
- heavy cream - 3/4 c
- paprika - 1 item
- grated Parmesan cheese - 1/4 c
- salt and pepper - 1 item
- cooked shrimp - 1 lb
- sherry - 1/4 c
- Worcestershire - 1 Tbsp
- fresh mushrooms, sliced - 1/4 lb
- 2 cans artichoke hearts
How to make shrimp and artichoke casserole:
In a saucepan, melt 4 1/2 tablespoons butter and stir in flour. When blended, gradually stir in milk and cream, stirring constantly, with a wire whisk. When the mixture is thickened and smooth, season to taste with salt and pepper.Arrange artichokes over bottom of a buttered baking dish. Scatter shrimp on top. Cook mushrooms in the remaining butter for 6 minutes. Spoon over shrimp and artichokes. Add sherry and Worcestershire to cream sauce and pour over mixture. Sprinkle with cheese and paprika. Bake for 30 to 40 minutes at 375°.
