Ingredients/Components
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- butter - 1/2 c
- cream - 6 Tbsp
- pepper - 1/8 tsp
- celery seed - 1/4 tsp
- fine cracker crumbs - 1 c
- oysters - 1 pt
- crumbled day old bread - 1/2 c
How to make scalloped oysters:
Melt butter; stir in crumbs. Place half of crumbs in bottom of greased oblong baking dish. Spread with oysters. Season with salt and pepper. Top with remaining crumbs. Add cream and seasoning. Bake at 350° for 40 minutes. Do not have more than two layers of oysters. If you do, the top layer will be overdone and the bottom ones are undone.Recipe categories: Main dish, Scallops, Casseroles.
