Ingredients/Components

  • half and half - 3/4 c
  • salt - 1/2 tsp
  • melted butter - 1/2 c
  • pepper - 1/4 tsp
  • Worcestershire sauce - 1 tsp
  • pint small oysters - 1 item
  • cracker crumbs, medium coarse - 2 c
  • oyster liquor - 1/4 c

How to make scalloped oysters:

Drain oysters, save liquor. Combine cracker crumbs, butter, salt and pepper. Spread 1/3 of cracker crumbs in oiled casserole dish. Cover with 1/2 of the oysters. Spread a second layer of the crumbs. Cover with remaining oysters. Combine cream, oyster liquor and Worcestershire. Pour over oysters. Top with the last of the crumbs. Bake at 350° for 40 minutes.
