Savory corn bake
Ingredients/Components
- pkg - 1 oz
- milk - 1 c
- eggs, separated - 2 item
- baking powder - 1 tsp
- self-rising flour - 3/4 c
- cornmeal - 2 Tbsp
- dash of pepper - 1 item
- can cream-style corn - 1 oz
- chopped green bell peppers - 1/2 c
How to make savory corn bake:
Heat oven to 350°. Grease a 2-quart casserole. In a large bowl, combine milk and egg yolks; blend well. Lightly spoon flour into a measuring cup; level off. Add flour, cornmeal, baking powder and pepper; beat until smooth. Stir in green pepper, corn and bacon. In a small bowl beat egg whites until stiff but not dry. Fold into corn mixture. Pour into dish. Bake at 350° for 55 to 70 minutes or until center is firm. Serves 8.Recipe categories: Side dish, Savory, Taste/mood.
