Sausage pie
Ingredients/Components
- pkg - 1 oz
- cooking oil - 1 Tbsp
- butter or margarine, melted - 2 Tbsp
- Worcestershire sauce - 1 Tbsp
- soft bread crumbs - 1 c
- shredded Cheddar cheese - 1 c
- dried basil - 1 tsp
- medium green pepper, chopped - 1/2 item
- medium sweet red pepper, chopped - 1/2 item
- cooked long grain rice - 3 c
- to 5 medium tomatoes, peeled and chopped - 4 item
How to make sausage pie:
Place sausage on rack in baking pan. Bake at 350° for 15 minutes. Cut into 1-inch pieces; set aside in a skillet. Saute peppers in oil for 3 minutes. Place in a 3-quart casserole. Add sausage and the next 8 ingredients. Combine bread crumbs and butter; sprinkle on top of casserole. Bake, uncovered, at 350° for 30 to 40 minutes.
