  • salt - 1 tsp
  • cold water - 6 Tbsp
  • eggs, beaten - 3 item
  • shortening - 2/3 c
  • light cream
  • sifted all-purpose flour - 2 c
  • Parmesan cheese - 1/4 c
  • minced onion - 1/4 c
  • green peppers, seeded and diced - 2 item
  • Bake 10 minutes at 450°

How to make sausage pie:

Mix and roll as for pie crust to fit 2 (9-inch) pie tins. Bake 10 minutes at 450°. Cool.Filling:1 1/4 lb. sweet Italian sausage, casing removed2 green peppers, seeded and diced1/4 c. minced onion3 eggs, beaten1/4 c. Parmesan cheese1 1/2 c. light cream1/4 tsp. salt Brown in skillet over medium heat the sausage. Chop coarsely and remove from pan. In fat left in skillet, cook the peppers and onion over low heat until soft. Place sausage, onion and peppers in pie shells. Combine eggs, cheese, cream and salt. Pour into pie shells. Bake 35 to 40 minutes at 350° or until knife inserted halfway comes out clean. Let stand 10 to 15 minutes before cutting.
