Sauerkraut salad
Ingredients/Components
- sugar
- oil - 1/4 c
- vinegar - 1/2 c
- chopped celery - 1 c
- caraway seed - 1 tsp
- green pepper, chopped - 1 item
- celery salt - 1 tsp
- dill seed - 1 tsp
- small onion or green onion, chopped - 1 item
- 2 1/2 can sauerkraut 3 1/2 c
How to make sauerkraut salad:
Dressing:1 c. sugar1/4 c. oil1/2 c. vinegar1 tsp. celery salt1 tsp. dill seed1 tsp. caraway seed Drain sauerkraut (rinse in cold water to remove some brine taste, if desired). Mix all vegetables together. Mix sugar, oil and vinegar. Heat until sugar dissolves. Add seasonings.Pour dressing over salad mixture, mix and let stand overnight, covered, in refrigerator.
