Ingredients/Components

  • sugar - 1/2 c
  • vanilla - 1 tsp
  • milk - 1 qt
  • salt - 1/4 tsp
  • butter - 1/8 lb
  • water - 1 c
  • raisins - 1/2 c
  • slightly beaten eggs - 2 item
  • Carolina rice - 1/2 c

How to make rice pudding:

Put rice in water with salt. Cook 7 minutes. Stir occasionally. Add milk, butter and vanilla. Simmer slowly 1/2 hour, covered lightly. Add sugar and raisins. Cook slowly 5 to 10 minutes. Remove from heat. Add eggs. Sprinkle with cinnamon. Refrigerate until thickened.
