  • can crushed pineapple - 1 oz
  • can cherry pie filling - 1 oz
  • sticks margarine, melted - 2 item
  • pkg yellow cake mix - 1 item
  • c flaked coconut, optional - 1 item
  • cup finely chopped pecans or other nuts - 1 item

How to make mom's cherry cake:

Pour pie filling and pineapple in bottom of greased 9x13-inch cake pan. Sprinkle dry cake mix on top. Pour melted margarine on top. Sprinkle with coconut and nuts. Bake at 350° for 50 minutes.
