Ingredients/Components
- salt - 1 tsp
- butter - 1 Tbsp
- pepper - 1/2 tsp
- long grain rice - 1 c
- medium onion - 1 item
- chicken or beef stock - 2 c
How to make rice pilaf:
Melt butter in heavy pan, one with tight fitting lid. Add onion and saute about 2 minutes until translucent, not brown. Add rice, stirring to coat grains with butter; cook until translucent. Pour in stock. Add salt and pepper, bring to boil over high heat and immediately cover with lid. Reduce heat and simmer 23 minutes.
