Ingredients/Components
- butter - 1 c
- Crisco - 1/2 c
- sugar - 3 c
- eggs - 7 item
- milk - 1 c
- red food coloring - 1 oz
- cake flour - 3 c
- salt - 1/4 tsp
- vanilla - 1/2 tsp
- baking powder - 1/2 tsp
- oleo
- box powdered sugar - 1 item
- pkg - 2 oz
How to make red velvet pound cake:
Frosting:1/2 c. oleo1 box powdered sugar2 (3 oz.) pkg. cream cheese (soft)3 Tbsp. milk Cream butter well and add sugar. Cream until fluffy; add eggs one at a time, beating well after each. Mix flour, salt and baking powder; add to sugar mixture, alternating with milk. Mix well and add coloring and vanilla. Bake at 300° for 1 1/2 hours in greased and floured Bundt pan.Frosting: Mix and spread on cooled cake.
