Ingredients/Components
- eggs - 3 item
- flour - 1 Tbsp
- salt and pepper to taste - 1 item
- grated Cheddar cheese - 2 oz
- grated Swiss cheese - 2 oz
- and 2 Tbsp - 1 c
- basic custard for 1 pie
How to make quiche:
Add a small amount of flour to milk and add to egg mixture. Bake 1 (9-inch) pie crust at 375° for 10 minutes or until begins to "puff up." Mix cheeses. Spread 1/2 of cheese mixture in bottom of shell. Layer 3/4 cup of any mixture over cheese. Add remaining cheese. Pour basic custard over entire pie. Bake at 375° for 35 to 40 minutes.Variations - Saute fresh vegetables in 1 tablespoon butter: any one or combination (broccoli, asparagus, spinach, green onions, mushrooms, finely diced ham, real bacon bits, mini shrimp, crab meat).
