Ingredients/Components
- sugar
- cinnamon - 1 tsp
- eggs - 3 item
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- all-purpose flour, sifted - 3 c
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- nutmeg - 1 tsp
- soda - 1 tsp
- baking powder - 1 tsp
- allspice - 1 tsp
- shortening 1/2 c - 1 c
- nutmeats, chopped optional - 1 c
- 303 can pumpkin 2 c
How to make pumpkin bread:
Cream shortening; add sugar gradually. Add eggs and mix well until blended. Sift together the flour, baking powder, nutmeg, soda, salt, allspice and cinnamon. Add to the creamed mixture. Add pumpkin and vanilla; mix until well blended. Fold in nutmeats and pour into four greased loaf pans. Bake in preheated oven for 1 hour at 350°.Recipe categories: Breads, Quick breads, Vegetables.
