  • sugar
  • cinnamon - 1 tsp
  • vanilla - 1 tsp
  • salt - 1 tsp
  • flour - 2 c
  • butter - 2 Tbsp
  • nutmeg - 1/2 tsp
  • soda - 1 tsp
  • buttermilk - 1 c
  • nuts - 1 c
  • eggs, unbeaten - 3 item
  • allspice - 1/2 tsp
  • Wesson oil - 1 c
  • stewed prunes - 1 c

How to make prune cake:

Topping:1/2 c. buttermilk1 c. sugar1/2 tsp. soda2 Tbsp. butter Cream the oil, sugar and buttermilk. Sift together dry ingredients and add to mixture. Add eggs and vanilla. Fold in nuts and prunes. Bake in a 9 x 13-inch pan in a 350° oven for 45 minutes.

Topping: Mix and heat buttermilk, sugar, soda and butter. Pour over cake while both are hot.
