Ingredients/Components
- sugar
- cinnamon - 1 tsp
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- salt - 1 tsp
- flour - 2 c
- butter - 2 Tbsp
- nutmeg - 1/2 tsp
- soda - 1 tsp
- buttermilk - 1 c
- nuts - 1 c
- eggs, unbeaten - 3 item
- allspice - 1/2 tsp
- Wesson oil - 1 c
- stewed prunes - 1 c
How to make prune cake:
Topping:1/2 c. buttermilk1 c. sugar1/2 tsp. soda2 Tbsp. butter Cream the oil, sugar and buttermilk. Sift together dry ingredients and add to mixture. Add eggs and vanilla. Fold in nuts and prunes. Bake in a 9 x 13-inch pan in a 350° oven for 45 minutes.Topping: Mix and heat buttermilk, sugar, soda and butter. Pour over cake while both are hot.
