Ingredients/Components

  • sticks butter - 2 item
  • Crisco - 1/2 c
  • plain flour
  • sugar
  • salt - 1/2 tsp
  • soda, dissolved in hot water - 1/2 tsp
  • vanilla - 2 tsp
  • eggs - 4 item
  • buttermilk or 1 tsp - 1 c

How to make pound cake:

Mix butter, Crisco and sugar real good. Add salt and soda, then alternate eggs, flour and buttermilk. Add vanilla last. Bake at 350° for 1 hour and 20 minutes.
