Ingredients/Components
- cake flour
- sugar - 2 c
- eggs - 2 item
- Wesson oil - 1 c
- buttermilk - 1 c
- red food coloring
- vinegar - 1 tsp
- cocoa - 2 tsp
- salt - 1 tsp
- soda - 1 tsp
- vanilla extract - 1 Tbsp
- Add eggs and beat
- pkg - 1 oz
- box confectioners sugar - 1 item
- vanilla - 1 Tbsp
- chopped nuts - 1 c
How to make red velvet cake:
Cream together Wesson oil and sugar. Add eggs and beat. Mix cocoa, food coloring and vanilla; add vinegar together. Combine these; add flour that has been sifted with salt and soda alternately with buttermilk to mixture. Bake at 350° in 3 cake pans that have been greased and dusted with flour. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes. Remove and cool on cake racks and ice.Icing:1 stick regular margarine1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese1 box confectioners sugar1 Tbsp. vanilla1 c. chopped nuts Mix together margarine, cream cheese, sugar and vanilla.
