Ingredients/Components

  • milk - 3/4 c
  • salt - 1/2 tsp
  • 8 oz - 2 c
  • pepper - 1/4 tsp
  • chopped onion - 1/2 c
  • bulk pork sausage - 1 lb
  • can condensed cream of mushroom soup, undiluted - 1 3/4
  • chopped fresh parsley optional - 1 item
  • sliced peeled raw potatoes - 3 c

How to make potato sausage casserole:

Brown sausage; drain and set aside. Combine soup, milk, onion, salt and pepper. In a greased 2-quart casserole, layer half the potatoes, half of soup mixture and half the sausage. Repeat, ending with sausage. Cover and bake at 350° for 1 hour or until potatoes are tender. Sprinkle with cheese. Return to oven, uncovered, for 2 to 3 minutes or until cheese melts. Garnish with parsley if desired. Yields 6 servings.
