Ingredients/Components
- butter - 1 Tbsp
- egg - 1 item
- Crisco - 2 Tbsp
- salt to taste - 1 item
- coarse bread crumbs - 2 c
- mashed potatoes - 3 c
- flour may be more; go by feeling - 1/2 c
How to make potato dumplings:
Mix bread crumbs in melted butter and Crisco. Brown, stirring constantly. Mix into mashed potatoes; add egg, salt and flour. Form into balls size of small potato. Boil in salted boiling water in large kettle about 10 to 15 minutes. Remove from water and serve. Good.Recipe tested by Remona Barker, Crandon.
