  • vanilla - 1 tsp
  • salt - 1 tsp
  • flour
  • brown sugar - 1/2 c
  • butter - 4 Tbsp
  • cornstarch - 2 Tbsp
  • egg - 1 item
  • vinegar - 1 Tbsp
  • Crisco
  • diced rhubarb - 2 c
  • ice water - 6 Tbsp
  • Pour into unbaked pie shell

How to make french rhubarb pie:

Topping:3/4 c. flour1/2 c. brown sugar4 Tbsp. butter Mix and fold sugar, cornstarch, egg and vanilla into rhubarb. Pour into unbaked pie shell. Cover with topping, crumbled.Pie Crust:3 c. flour1 1/4 c. Crisco1 tsp. salt1 egg1 Tbsp. vinegar6 Tbsp. ice water Mix egg with vinegar and ice water. Add to flour, Crisco and salt that have been blended well. May need more water to form firm ball. Roll to form 4 to 5 crusts. Bake at 400° for 30 minutes, then 350° for 30 minutes.
