Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1/4 c
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- milk
- butter - 1/2 c
- cornstarch - 1/4 c
- egg yolks - 4 item
- poppy seed - 1/4 c
- graham crackers - 1/2 lb
- Meringue:4 egg whites
How to make poppy seed torte:
Filling:3 c. milk1 c. sugar4 egg yolks1/4 c. cornstarch1/4 c. poppy seed1 tsp. vanilla Meringue:4 egg whites1/2 c. sugar Use an 8 x 12-inch pan. Mix together graham crackers, butter and 1/4 cup sugar; line pan, saving 1/4 for topping. Mix 1 cup sugar, milk, egg yolks, cornstarch and poppy seed together in a double boiler. Cook until thick. Cool and add vanilla. Blend egg whites and 1/2 cup sugar until thick. Pour filling into crust. Spread meringue over the top. Sprinkle with remaining graham mixture.
