Ingredients/Components
- eggs - 4 item
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- salt - 1 tsp
- flour - 4 c
- evaporated milk - 1 c
- yeast - 2 pkg
- shortening or butter - 1 c
How to make poppy seed rolls:
Dissolve yeast in milk. Sift flour and salt. Cut in shortening. Add vanilla and yeast mixture. Add one egg at a time and beat well after each addition. Place dough in refrigerator overnight.Roll dough to 1/4-inch thickness. Spread with Solo poppy seed filling and roll like jelly roll. Seal edges. Brush top with egg yolk to which a little milk has been added. Bake 30 to 35 minutes at 350° or until brown. Cool. Sprinkle with powdered sugar.
