Ingredients/Components

  • cornmeal - 1 c
  • cold water - 1 c
  • salt - 1 tsp
  • boiling water - 4 c
  • butter - 2 Tbsp
  • melted butter - 1/2 3/4
  • Parmesan cheese - 1/2 3/4
  • Stir into boiling water
  • beef and pork half and half
  • olive oil - 1/2 c
  • tomato juice
  • water - 3 c
  • tomato paste - 1 can
  • fresh parsley - 1 item

How to make polenta:

Combine cornmeal, cold water and salt. Stir into boiling water. Stir constantly over low heat for 15 minutes. Add 2 tablespoons butter and stir. Stir until thickens. Spread on polenta board or on individual plates. Sprinkle each serving with melted butter (optional) and Parmesan cheese. Spread on sauce and more cheese. Grab your fork, mark off your area and enjoy.Sauce:1 clove mashed garlic1 1/2 lb. beef and pork (half and half)1/2 c. olive oil3 1/2 c. tomato juice3 c. water1 can (6 oz.) tomato paste fresh parsley Brown garlic lightly in oil and add meat. Cook until broth is absorbed or meat is browned. Add rest of ingredients and cook slowly 1 1/2 hours. Sauce needs to thicken in order to spread on polenta.
