Ingredients/Components
- extra-virgin olive oil - 3/4 c
- cloves garlic, peeled - 3 item
- fresh basil leaves, washed
- lightly toasted pine nuts, walnuts or almonds - 3 Tbsp
- fresh shredded Parmesan cheese - 1/2 c
How to make pesto sauce:
Place basil leaves, garlic, nuts and oil in a blender. Blend until leaves are pulverized. Add cheese. Blend a little longer. Yields 1 1/2 cups pesto sauce.Spicier: Add extra garlic.
Spiciest: Add hot pepper.
