Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1 c
- vanilla extract - 1 tsp
- butter or margarine - 1/3 c
- salt - 1/4 tsp
- eggs, beaten - 4 item
- light corn syrup - 1 c
- pecan halves - 1 1
- unbaked 9-inch pie shell - 1 item
How to make pecan pie:
Combine first three ingredients in a medium saucepan. Cook over low heat, stirring constantly until sugar dissolves and butter melts. Let cool slightly.Add eggs, vanilla and salt to mixture, stirring well. Pour filling into pie shell and top with pecan halves. (Be sure pecans cover top completely.) Bake at 325° for 50 to 55 minutes. Yields one (9-inch) pie.
