sugar - 1/2 c
vanilla - 1 tsp
milk - 2 Tbsp
salt - 1/2 tsp
baking soda - 1 tsp
egg - 1 item
shortening - 1/2 c
all-purpose flour
firmly packed brown sugar - 1/2 c
peanut butter - 1/2 c
about 48 milk chocolate kisses

How to make peanut blossoms:

Preheat oven to 375°. Lightly spoon flour into a measuring cup; level off. In a large bowl, blend flour, 1/2 cup sugar, brown sugar, baking soda, salt, shortening, peanut butter, milk, vanilla and egg at low speed until stiff dough forms. Shape into 1-inch balls; roll in sugar. Place 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheets. Bake at 375° for 10 to 12 minutes or until golden brown. Immediately top each cookie with a candy kiss, pressing down firmly so cookie cracks around edge. Remove from cookie sheets. Makes about 4 dozen cookies.
