Ingredients/Components

  • butter, softened - 1/2 c
  • sugar - 1/2 c
  • vanilla - 1 tsp
  • milk - 2 Tbsp
  • salt - 1/2 tsp
  • baking soda - 3/4 tsp
  • egg - 1 item
  • shortening - 1/4 c
  • all-purpose flour
  • firmly packed brown sugar - 1/2 c
  • peanut butter - 1 c

How to make peanut butter cookies:

Heat oven to 375°. In large mixing bowl, blend first 8 ingredients until smooth. Scrape sides of bowl frequently. Add dry ingredients and mix. Scrape sides of bowl occasionally. Shape into 1-inch balls. Place on ungreased cookie sheet. Press down with fork in a straight or crisscross pattern. Bake at 375° for 8 to 10 minutes. Remove from cookie sheets immediately. Yields about 60 cookies.
