Ingredients/Components

  • salt - 1/2 tsp
  • brown sugar - 1 Tbsp
  • water - 3/4 c
  • vegetable oil - 2 Tbsp
  • vinegar - 1/2 c
  • Worcestershire sauce - 1 Tbsp
  • catsup - 3/4 c
  • chopped onions - 1/2 c
  • prepared mustard - 1 Tbsp
  • black pepper - 1/8 tsp
  • round steak, cut 3/4-inch thick - 3 lb

How to make oven barbecued steak:

Heat oven to 350°. Cut steak into 10 equal portions. Pour oil into skillet. Brown each piece of steak. Transfer to a roasting pan. Add onions to oil in the skillet and brown lightly. Add the rest of the ingredients to make a barbecue sauce and stir and simmer 5 minutes. Pour the sauce over the steaks in the pan. Cover. Bake 2 hours or until meat is fork-tender. (Baste meat occasionally with sauce in pan.)
