Ingredients/Components

  • salt - 1/2 tsp
  • brown sugar - 1/3 c
  • water - 1 c
  • vinegar - 1/3 c
  • dry mustard - 1 tsp
  • paprika - 1 tsp
  • Worcestershire sauce - 3 Tbsp
  • chili powder - 1/2 tsp
  • catsup - 1 c
  • medium onion, thinly sliced - 1 item
  • lemon, thinly sliced - 1/2 item
  • pork spare ribs - 4 lb

How to make oven barbecued ribs:

Advance preparation: In Dutch oven, add salted water to ribs to cover. Cover pan; simmer until almost done, about 1 hour. Drain ribs. Place in shallow baking pan. In saucepan, combine 1 cup water, salt, ketchup and next 6 ingredients. Bring to boil. Cook and stir 5 minutes. Add onion and lemon. Cool. Spoon over ribs; cover. Chill up to 24 hours. Before serving, bake uncovered at 350° for 45 minutes. Baste often. Serves 4.
