Oven barbecued chicken
Ingredients/Components
- salt - 2 tsp
- brown sugar - 1 Tbsp
- butter - 3 Tbsp
- vinegar - 3/4 c
- dry mustard - 1/4 tsp
- chopped onion - 1 item
- salt and pepper to taste - 1 item
- tomato sauce
- black pepper - 1 tsp
- cayenne pepper - 1/2 tsp
- Worcestershire
- of water - 1/4-i item
- or 4 bay leaves - 3 item
- cloves garlic, peeled and minced - 3 item
- chickens, cut in pieces - 2 item
How to make oven barbecued chicken:
Sauce:16 oz. tomato sauce2 tsp. salt1 tsp. black pepper1/2 tsp. cayenne pepper1/4 tsp. dry mustard3 or 4 bay leaves4 1/2 tsp. Worcestershire3/4 c. vinegar1 Tbsp. brown sugar3 Tbsp. butter3 cloves garlic, peeled and minced Boil sauce ingredients 10 minutes (simmer). Put chicken in pan. Cover with chopped onion; salt and pepper. Add 1/4-inch of water. Bake, uncovered, for 30 minutes. Turn and bake another 30 minutes at 300°. Drain off the water and add the barbecue sauce. Bake for 1 hour. (May refrigerate sauce, then bake the last hour when ready to eat.)Recipe categories: Chicken, Poultry, Meat.
