Orange rice
Ingredients/Components
- salt - 1 tsp
- water
- vegetable oil - 1 Tbsp
- long-grain rice - 1 c
- grated orange zest colored part of peel - 1 tsp
How to make orange rice:
In wide saucepan, heat oil. Add orange zest and rice; saute 2 minutes or until rice turns milky white. Add the salt and water; heat to boiling. Stir to mix; cover.Over medium-low heat, cook rice 15 minutes or until liquid is absorbed and rice is tender, but not soft. Remove pan from heat. Let stand, covered, 10 minutes before serving. Makes about 4 servings.
