How to make old fashioned potato soup:

Heat water with salt to boiling in 2-quart pan. Cube potatoes and cook in salted water. Cook bacon, saving grease. Cook potatoes until tender, then drain, saving the water. Then brown the potatoes in the bacon grease. While the potatoes are browning, mix the flour and beaten egg. Add these to the potato water, stirring to separate and make riviets. Cook until thick.

When ready to put potatoes on plate, mash and add riviets. Crumble bacon over it. Add the tomatoes and onions, then enjoy. Serves 4.
