Cornbread casserole
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1 tsp
- salt - 1 tsp
- flour - 1 tsp
- water - 2 c
- buttermilk - 1/2 c
- egg - 1 item
- pepper - 3/4 tsp
- chili powder - 1 tsp
- ground beef - 1 lb
- can tomato soup - 1 item
- onion, chopped - 1 item
- green pepper, chopped - 1/2 item
- corn - 1 c
- corn meal - 3/4 c
- melted fat - 1 tsp
How to make cornbread casserole:
Brown beef and onion in skillet. Add soup, water, seasonings, corn and green pepper; mixing well. Simmer for 15 minutes. Fill well-greased casserole 3/4 full, leaving room for topping. Mix together cornmeal, flour, sugar, buttermilk, egg and fat. Pour on top of casserole. Bake for 20 minutes at 350°.
