- oatmeal - 1 c
- brown sugar - 1 c
- sugar - 1 c
- flour, sifted - 1-1/3 c
- eggs - 2 item
- boiling water - 1-1/2 c
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- soda - 1 tsp
- cinnamon - 1 tsp
- nutmeg - 1 tsp
- margarine - 1/2 c
- chopped walnuts - 1 c
- shredded coconut - 1 c
- evaporated milk - 1/4 c
- melted margarine - 6 Tbsp
- vanilla - 1 tsp
How to make oatmeal cake:
Topping:1/2 c. brown sugar1/2 c. sugar1 c. chopped walnuts1 c. shredded coconut1/4 c. evaporated milk6 Tbsp. melted margarine1 tsp. vanilla Mix oatmeal and sugars in a mixer bowl. Sift flour, salt, soda and spices; add to oatmeal mixture; mix well. Add eggs, margarine and boiling water; mix well on medium speed. Put batter in greased 9 x 13 inch pan. Prepare topping by combining listed ingredients and drop by spoonfuls onto cake batter. Bake at 350° for 45 minutes.Recipe categories: Desserts, Cakes, Lunch/snacks.
