  • sugar - 1 c
  • cinnamon - 1/2 tsp
  • eggs - 2 item
  • milk - 1/4 c
  • butter or margarine - 6 Tbsp
  • salt - 1/2 tsp
  • flour
  • brown sugar - 1 c
  • nutmeg - 1/2 tsp
  • coconut - 1 item
  • baking soda - 1 tsp
  • nuts - 1 item
  • margarine - 1/2 c
  • hot water
  • quick oatmeal - 1 c
  • Pour 1 1/2 cup hot water over mix

How to make oatmeal cake:

Place margarine and oatmeal in mixing bowl. Pour 1 1/2 cup hot water over mix. Let set for 20 minutes. Sift together sugar, flour, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg and soda. Then add 2 eggs and mix. Add to the first mixture all at one time; mix well. Pour into a well-greased and floured 13 1/2 x 9 x 2-inch pan. Bake at 350° for 30 minutes.Icing:1 tsp. vanilla1/2 c. brown sugar6 Tbsp. butter or margarine1/4 c. milk nuts coconut Mix all ingredients. Spread over baked cake and place under broiler about mid-oven and watch closely so it doesn't burn.
