Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1 c
- cinnamon - 1 tsp
- eggs - 2 item
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- chopped pecans - 1/2 c
- milk - 1/4 c
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- flour
- brown sugar - 1 c
- butter
- coconut - 1 c
- baking soda - 1 tsp
- boiling water
- margarine - 1/4 c
- oatmeal - 1 c
How to make oatmeal cake:
Topping:1/3 c. butter1/2 c. brown sugar1/4 c. milk1 c. coconut1/2 c. chopped pecans1 tsp. vanilla Pour water over oatmeal and let stand 20 minutes. Add softened margarine, sugar and brown sugar; mix well. Mix in 2 eggs, soda, flour, salt and cinnamon. Pour in a greased and floured cake pan; bake at 350° for 35 minutes.Before cake is done, begin icing. Melt butter and add remaining ingredients. Let cake sit for a few minutes after cooking. Pour icing over warm cake and broil until browned.
