- eggs - 2 item
- salt - 3 tsp
- flour
- boiling water - 3/4 c
- shortening - 1/3 c
- molasses - 1/2 c
- oatmeal - 1 c
- warm water - 1 cake
- hot coffee - 1 c
How to make oatmeal bread:
Mix together boiling water, coffee, oatmeal, molasses, shortening and salt. Add the yeast cake dissolved in warm water. Add eggs and flour. Let rise 2 hours. Punch down. Form 2 loaves of bread. Put in greased loaf pans. Let rise again. Bake at 400° for 10 minutes. Reduce oven temperature to 350° and bake for 35 minutes.Recipe categories: Breads, Low fat, Yeast breads.
