Oatmeal bread
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1/4 c
- flour - 4 5
- boiling water - 2 c
- shortening - 1/4 c
- oatmeal
- warm water - 1/2 c
- yeast - 1 pkg
- tsp salt - 1 item
- stick butter or margarine - 1 item
- lukewarm milk - 2 c
- yeast cake - 1 item
- tsp sugar - 2 item
- Tbsp salt - 1 item
How to make oatmeal bread:
Mix butter and milk together. Add 2 c. flour to yeast mixture, then add butter and milk to mixture. Let the mixture rise.Beat 2 eggs, add 1 c. sugar and put in batter. Add 1 c. flour, mix together. Take 3 pieces of dough and make 3 loaves of dough on a floured board, and braid them together. Put in a sprayed pan. Let them raise before baking. Beat egg yolks and Add a small amount of water. Brush over dough. Bake 375° 15 to 20 minutes. When done brush with margarine. Sprinkle sugar on top. Enjoy.
