Noodle kugel
Ingredients/Components
- margarine or butter - 1/2 lb
- broad noodles - 1 lb
- to 6 eggs - 4 item
- large can crushed pineapple do not drain - 1 item
- Philadelphia cream cheese or 1 lb - 8 oz
- diced apples, raisins or canned pears no juice - 1 item
How to make noodle kugel:
Note: The more fruit, the fluffier the noodles.Cook noodles and drain; do not rinse. Toss margarine and cream cheese until thoroughly melted with hot noodles. Add eggs, folding lightly; do not mash. Add crushed pineapple, etc. Pour into a greased oblong baking dish (9 x 13-inch). Sprinkle any kind of crumbs, graham or cornflakes with a little sugar. Bake at 350° for about an hour until edges are crisp.
Can be frozen and reheated or be kept in refrigerator for a day before baking. Serves easiest if allowed to cool a little.
