  • flour - 3 Tbsp
  • margarine - 1/2 c
  • onion, chopped - 1 item
  • can evaporated milk - 1 item
  • bay leaves - 3 item
  • fresh mushrooms, chopped
  • can beef broth or 2 bouillon cubes, dissolved in 2 c - 1 oz

How to make mushroom soup:

In a 2-quart saucepan, melt margarine. Add onion and mushrooms and brown until tender. Stir in flour, using a fork to prevent lumps. Slowly add broth and milk, stirring constantly. Add bay leaves. Simmer on low heat until thickened. Remove bay leaves before serving. Serves 4; 367 calories per serving.
