- sugar - 1/2 c
- cinnamon - 1/2 tsp
- eggs - 2 item
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- flour - 3 c
- butter - 1/2 Tbsp
- nutmeg - 1/2 tsp
- soda - 2 tsp
- molasses - 2/3 c
- ginger - 1/2 tsp
- cream of tartar - 1 tsp
- sour milk - 1 c
How to make molasses doughnuts:
Beat eggs. Add molasses, sugar and butter. Sift dry ingredients and alternate with the milk. Add flour, enough to make a soft dough that handles easily. Roll out on floured board to 1/4-inch thickness. Cut with doughnut cutter and fry in fat at 350° to 375°.Recipe categories: Breads, Breakfast, Quick breads.
